EUDI Wallet Infrastructure
Standards-compliant infrastructure for Europe's digital identity future
Power the European Digital Identity Wallet ecosystem with BaseID's standards-compliant credential infrastructure. Dual-format SD-JWT VC and mdoc support, OID4VCI/VP protocols, and full eIDAS 2.0 alignment for 450 million citizens across 27 member states.
Key Features
SD-JWT VC + mdoc Dual-Format
Issue and verify credentials in both SD-JWT VC and ISO 18013-5 mdoc formats as mandated by the EU Architecture Reference Framework, ensuring wallet interoperability across all member states.
OID4VCI/VP Protocol Suite
Full implementation of OpenID for Verifiable Credential Issuance and Presentation protocols, enabling standardized credential flows between issuers, holders, and verifiers across the EUDI ecosystem.
HAIP v1.0 Interoperability
Aligned with the High Assurance Interoperability Profile to ensure credential exchange works seamlessly across diverse wallet implementations and trust frameworks within the EU.
Trust List Integration
Connect to EU trust lists conforming to ETSI TS 119 612, enabling automated verification of issuer authenticity and credential validity across national boundaries.
Use Cases
- EU Person Identification Data (PID) issuance
- Cross-border credential verification across member states
- Qualified Electronic Attestation of Attributes (QEAA)
- EUDI Wallet backend infrastructure
- National identity scheme integration
- Travel and border control credential presentation
The European Union’s revised eIDAS Regulation mandates that every member state offer a European Digital Identity Wallet to its citizens by December 2026, creating a unified digital identity ecosystem for over 450 million people. BaseID provides the credential infrastructure that wallet providers, issuers, and verifiers need to participate in this ecosystem, with native support for both credential formats the EU requires: SD-JWT Verifiable Credentials and ISO 18013-5 mdoc.
Built on the EU Architecture Reference Framework and aligned with the High Assurance Interoperability Profile (HAIP v1.0), BaseID implements the full OID4VCI and OID4VP protocol suite for standardized credential issuance and presentation. Issuers can produce EU Person Identification Data credentials, qualified electronic attestations, and sector-specific credentials such as mobile driving licences, professional qualifications, and educational diplomas, all in the dual formats that wallets must accept.
Trust is foundational to the EUDI ecosystem, and BaseID integrates with EU trust lists defined under ETSI TS 119 612, enabling verifiers to confirm that a credential was issued by a recognized trust service provider in any member state. Combined with selective disclosure through SD-JWT, citizens retain granular control over which attributes they share in each transaction.
Written entirely in Rust for memory safety and high performance, BaseID’s open-source implementation gives wallet providers and government agencies a transparent, auditable foundation for their EUDI Wallet infrastructure, free from proprietary lock-in and ready for the certification processes that the regulation demands.
