Trust Registry
BetaEstablish trust, enforce policy, prove compliance
Govern your credential ecosystem with a centralized registry for issuer and verifier authorization, trust framework policies, and credential schema management.
Key Features
Issuer & Verifier Registration
Onboard and authorize credential issuers and verifiers with configurable approval workflows, organizational profiles, and revocable participation records.
Trust Framework Policies
Define and enforce machine-readable governance rules that specify which entities can issue or verify which credential types under which conditions.
Credential Schema Management
Publish, version, and deprecate credential schemas in a shared registry so that all ecosystem participants reference a single source of truth.
Audit Trails
Record every registration, policy change, and schema update in a tamper-evident log that supports regulatory review and ecosystem transparency.
A verifiable credential is only as trustworthy as the ecosystem that stands behind it. The BaseID Trust Registry provides the governance layer that answers the essential question every relying party asks: should I trust this issuer? By maintaining an authoritative record of which organizations are permitted to issue or verify which credential types, the registry transforms a collection of independent actors into a coherent, auditable trust framework.
Policy authors define governance rules using a declarative configuration that maps credential schemas to authorized participants, required assurance levels, and operational constraints. These policies are enforced at verification time, so relying parties never need to maintain their own allow-lists or make ad hoc trust decisions. When a new issuer is onboarded, the approval workflow captures the evidence of vetting, and the resulting participation record is published to the registry where any ecosystem member can query it programmatically.
Every mutation to the registry, whether a new registration, a policy update, or a schema revision, is captured in a tamper-evident audit trail. This log serves as the compliance backbone for organizations operating under Canadian federal or provincial oversight, providing the documentary evidence needed to demonstrate that governance controls are not only defined but actively enforced. The Trust Registry is currently in beta and is being refined in collaboration with early adopters building production trust frameworks.
